Paul Strand Photography

This photograph was taken by the late Paul Strand. I really like Paul Strand in general because he was one of the main modernists who helped improve photography's name and establish it as an art. This picture is fascinating because of his consistent use of black and white photography. There are leading lines throughout the photo that pull your eyes in the direction that the people are moving. The lighting casts long shadows behind the people shown, getting rid of negative space and adding to the interest.
