Assignment 5: Using Motion

Panning:

The panning was very difficult to get good pictures out of, as out of about twenty pictures taken, this was my only good one. It was taken on the highway by Lincoln, and I believe I had my camera' shutter speed at 1/8 of a second. I took it to Lightroom to edit and in there I decreased the exposure, increased the fill light and blacks, contrast, clarity, and then using the tone curve, decreased the lights and darks, but increased the shadows.

Freeze Frame:

I really like this picture because it's interesting how it doesn't look like they're going that fast, but in reality they're going up to 180 mph. In Lightroom I increased the exposure and gave it a cool temperature to make it more appealing to the eye than it was originally.

Still Background:

In this still background photo, I increased the temperature and tinting, reds, greens, blues and purples to give the picture a bright, colorful look. To contrast these changes, I decreased the yellows and aqua, darks and saturation. These colors also made my swinging body come out of the picture more to create depth and interest.

Total Motion:

This picture was taken in the halls of Lincoln. To get the blurry effect, I set my camera to a slower shutter speed and shook my camera as it was taking the picture. Then in Lightroom, I Increased the exposure, brightness and contrast and decreased saturation all the way to make it black and white. Finally, I increased the fill light, blacks, and recovery lights. I like this photo because with these effects, it looks like what I imagine an asylum would look like from the eyes of a detainee.
